Basic Cover Letter Format
While there is no specific “one size fits all” cover letter format, there are a few things to keep in mind. Most of it is common sense and if you take your time should be quite straightforward. Make sure you use an easy to read font and use the same one throughout. You should use formal and professional language and address the cover letter to a specific person within the company (do not just use “To Whom It May Concern”). Close the letter with “Sincerely Yours” with your full name typed and personally signed. Your cover letter should be concise and never exceed one page. You can find lots of examples for cover letter formats online.
