The DS faces a lot of competition both at home in Japan and abroad. Its main competitor so far has been the Sony PSP which basically markets to the same demographic albeit ones with more financial means. The iPhone is now emerging as another possible source of competition for the portable gaming platform. However, the iPhone will have a hard time beating out the DS because the DS can play homebrews with a R4 DS.
